Short- changing health care.

When sick kids can’t get the health care they need, you know the system is in serious trouble. That’s what’s happening right now in Ontario. A surge of respiratory illness is sending children to overwhelmed hospitals…where there aren’t enough nurses to take care of them. How did we get here?

Ontario’s health-care system has been underfunded for years, but on Doug Ford’s watch, the nursing shortage has become dramatically worse. Ford’s Bill 124 slammed nurses and a million other Ontario workers, unfairly suppressing their wages. At a time when retaining experienced nurses is crucial, they are leaving the system in record numbers. They’ve had enough of being overworked and disrespected.

Doug Ford keeps coming up short on health care. He needs to offer meaningful incentives to bring nurses back into the system and retain those who will otherwise quit. Patients deserve better from this government. How bad do things have to get before Doug Ford finally does the right thing?
