Countless memorable images
STAFF REPORTER
Jim Wilkes, an award-winning Toronto Star photographer/reporter for more than 36 years until retirement in 2012, died Tuesday in Mississauga after suffering Type 2 diabetes complications.
His son James said Wilkes, 71, loved cooking for friends and family, going to concerts, watching sports and journalism.
“He said work was secondary to life, but he really loved working for the Star,” James said. “It was part of his identity.”
